Andhra Pradesh CM Promises Housing for All Poor by 2029

Introduction

In a significant announcement, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has committed to providing housing for all poor residents in the state by the year 2029. This initiative aims to ensure that every eligible beneficiary has access to a home, with special provisions for those without land.

Government Commitment

During a recent Assembly session, CM Naidu emphasized the government's responsibility to build houses and allocate housing plots for landless individuals. He urged eligible beneficiaries who have yet to receive housing assistance to come forward and apply, assuring them of support from both the central and state governments.

Plans for Housing Development

To meet the housing needs, the government plans to construct apartments in areas where housing plots are unavailable. Ahead of the Ugadi festival in 2026, the Chief Minister announced plans to organize three lakh housewarming ceremonies under the welfare housing initiative, with a goal of reaching ten lakh such events by 2026.

Support for Agriculture and Farmers

In addition to housing, CM Naidu outlined a comprehensive approach to enhance agricultural productivity in the state. He highlighted the allocation of substantial funds for agricultural support and the expansion of initiatives aimed at improving water security and food processing. This multifaceted strategy aims to bolster the agricultural sector while ensuring that farmers receive adequate assistance.
